[TWGR 2013 North America trip] The 11th
Sunny morning at Revelstoke. Pancakes, gear packing and ready to go for a half day riding before leaving Revelstoke. It snowed 10 cm during the night.
Trees are stoke.
44 km from Revelstoke the school bus for paradise was waiting for us... let's go to MP's lodge!

[TWGR 2013 North America trip] Ride at Revelstoke
First experience with BC's snow today. Weather was not so bad, a mix of cloud and sun. South slopes were crusty and north faces were good with 10 cm of powder snow or soft compacted snow. Last snowfall was about 3 days ago and almost everything is tracked.
Revelstoke is not a big resort but it offers an amazing terrain. Trees spots are especially fun and I can't imagine what it could be just after a 20-30cm snowfall... unlimited possibilities...
There are lot of trees but also good steep alpine terrain. The North Bowl is great.
New snow should come on Tuesday... crossed fingers.
[TWGR 2013 North America] Departure
Time to leave Geneva. I woke up at 5 and the plane to Frankfurt took off on time at 8:15. A good day to leave Switzerland as it was raining... I caught my connection in Frankfurt without any issue and the flight to Vancouver was very confortable. I slept only 15 minutes...
The view on the Groenland was absolutely beautiful.
It was 12:30 local time when we arrived at Vancouver and the sun was shining. I took my car, a Dodge Journey and was surpised by the traffic... so fluent, so cool to drive in this town!
[TWGR 2013 North America trip] Road to Revelstoke
Wake up at 6, small breakfast and on the road to Revelstoke. It is a beautiful sunny day and the road is in excellent condition.
The road offers scenic views and it is a real pleasure to smoothly drive on the Coquihalla highway. I stopped to eat at Kamloops and then at Blind Bay to take a few pics.
A few kilometers before Revelstoke, I saw the coolest Liquor store I've ever seen... the Burner.

[TWGR 2013 North America] Trip planning
Leaving Geneva airport on the 8th of March I will arrive in Vancouver the same day. I will then warm up at Revelstoke before joining a group for a cat skiing experience in the Monashee mountains.
On the 16th of March I will take the road to Alaska. My first step will probably be Jasper in Western Alberta. I will then drive the Alcan highway making a few stops on the way to Haines.
I will stay 2-3 weeks around Haines hoping to get a nice weather window to fly and ride as much as possible.
After that the ferry will bring me back to south from Haines to Juneau and Juneau to Prince Rupert.
I will try to keep this blog updated with pics and video of my trip...
